Jai began building RootsByJai & it’s tight knit community in 2020 serving as a village leader, root-worker, diviner, astrologer, herbalist, mentor, teacher, retreat organizer & gatherer.

But Jai is a passionate student above all. She has been studying & researching herbalism, traditional medicine, foraging and root-work for over 6 years and has earned two certifications of completion with The Herbal Academy.

Jai is also an Environmental Science student and is an initiated Omo Awo (student of mysteries) in West African Orisa Tradition & Yoruba Cosmology.

Jai’s mission with RootsByJai operation is to assist Black & Indigenous people in reclaiming their birthrights to heal and thrive through nature & African traditional practices.
